The roots of the Recla family date back to 1620. The sausage production tradition has been handed down from generation to generation. The picture dates back to the second half of the 19th century. It shows the first establishment, which was then named "Gebrüder Recla" (Recla Brothers).
After the war the family moved to Val Venosta. The first export business was established in Silandro by today's owners Gino and Franz in 1985.
In 1995 another production site was opened in Ciardes, and the assortment was extended with sausages, cooked ham and cooked sausages. The headquarters in Silandro were considerably enlarged in 2000.
The third construction phase was completed in 2010, and the packaging and dispatch areas were newly structured and re-organised.
Important trade partners gave a very positive feedback of our new production site, our continuous investments, and our quality improvements. Thanks to our reliability with regard to delivery and quality standards, we were able to build trusting cooperations, which are definitely a reason for our success on all markets and which are the basis for the Recla philosophy.
Recla always strives to offer the highest quality for its customers, as customer satisfaction is the main reason for the successful development of a business. We therefore continuously improve our operating processes and thereby focus on hygiene regulations and environmental protection. The basis for our effort is the deep respect for our products, which are produced with passion and care.
Meeting international food standards is one of the priorities of the Recla Company. Our company was ISO 9000 certified in 1997. One of the milestones in the company's history was the export permit for the USA in 2004, when Recla was the first company in Italy, which was granted permission to sell Südtiroler Speck GGA to the USA by the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture).
Recla is IFS (International Featured Standard, Higher Level, unannounced audit) and BRC (British Retail Consortium, Grade A+, unannounced audit) certified and therefore meets the highest European quality and hygiene standards.
The structures, production processes and products are continuously monitored via HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SSOP (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures). The main product Speck Alto Adige P.G.I. is monitored by an independent control organism.
