Graf von Meran - Cuvée Cabernet Merlot

The grapes for this Cabernet-Merlot are from the sunny vineyards of the Moarhof estate, situated at an elevation of 350m above sea level. A very interesting terroir with medium heavy soil and gravel. The Cabernet grapes provide good ageing potential while the Merlot is responsible for this wine’s elegance and finesse. Annual production is approximately 45 hl per hectare. After 16 months in Barrique (225 lt. Allier) the wine matures another ten months in the bottle before it is put on the market.

Winemaker’s Comment:
This wine has an intense ruby red colour. In the nose a complex fruity aroma of St. Lucie cherry, raspberries and red current. In the mouth it shows rich and full flavour with a solid and balanced structure.

Suggested Food Matching:
This wine is an ideal companion for red meats, aged cheese and hearty fish dishes.
